The Federal Ministry of Education has launched the Technical Teachers Training Programme (TTTP), a fully funded initiative designed to empower educators with advanced teaching skills and industry-relevant knowledge.

This programme is a transformative step toward strengthening Nigeria’s technical education system. Selected teachers will undergo a one-year Post-Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) at prestigious universities across the country, including

– Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (Kaduna)
– University of Nigeria, Nsukka (Enugu)
– Federal University of Technology, Minna (Niger)
– University of Benin (Edo)
– Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi
– Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo

The training is completely free, covering tuition, accommodation, and other essential costs, ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder participation.

Teachers currently employed in public technical schools or vocational colleges are encouraged to apply, provided they have at least five years remaining in service and are medically fit. The programme focuses on key disciplines such as,Technical & Vocational Education;

– Building Technology
– Business Education
– Woodwork & Metalwork Technology
– Home Economics & Hospitality
– Agricultural Education
– Automobile Technology
– Computer Science Education
– Electrical/Electronic Technology

Upon completion, participants will not only earn a recognized PGDE certification but will also gain modern teaching techniques that align with global standards. This will directly benefit Teachers and even students in Kwara North, equipping them with practical skills needed for employment and entrepreneurship.
